An illusory victory ...

While true, overwhelmed by the neglect of the humble means, that apart from its editorial "On the war tax" (El Espectador week from 2 to 8 April 2006) according to which "democratic security has led to a substantial increase in the price of assets and is therefore fair that the members of that minority-favored asset holder who pay for new investments in security." Especially when, in time of the same April 2, Minhacienda, Alberto Carrasquilla, confirmed that the previous war tax "was a very profitable" who valued the properties of those who paid it. Both reports validate the perspicuous analysis, in the viewer the same weekend, Alfredo Molano Bravo did in his column "Escalation." What it all comes down? What the government transformed the military into a body of guardhouse with thousands of men to serve the wealthy? Neither the old German Democratic Republic, or in the current Democratic People's Republic of Korea (aka North Korea) was used for this fold, the term "democracy." No wonder so many thinkers argue that modern politics as a science of governance gave way to pure conquest and maintenance mechanism power.
view of this lucrative business insensitivity is obvious that the prestige of political leader is not for the assistance given to provide the majority of his countrymen, but as the prolongation of its mandate means dividends for their financial sponsors. When we understand, to paraphrase the Italian philosopher Paolo Virno, that overcoming the current state of things only come when you maximize the life of every member of the Colombian crowd and not a few percentage points of GDP?
Besides, who says the new tax will encourage an end to conflict? It says the nation is today, with 400 thousand troops " almost double the troops four years ago. Is it enough that against a FARC so heinous and cowardly as tanned and experienced? History shows that the guerrillas, wherever that emerged on the globe, just horrifying brutality were defeated by overwhelming superiority powered by human and material (and sometimes not even then). For one example: in 1886 the U.S. government said in 5000 soldiers, led by General Nelson Miles (and support of the Mexican army), to pay, in the deserts of Arizona and after forty years of strife guerrillas (women and children included) of the Chiricahua Apache chief, Geronimo: 125 soldiers this is a guerrilla! In equal proportion, and calculating the FARC in 20 000 individuals, subjecting them militarily would require Colombia devoted solely to the dispute two and half million soldiers. Of course, the comparison leads to misunderstanding, because certainly the 2006 model Colombian armed forces have much better technology and weaponry that U.S. forces version 1886, but recalled that the hosts of Sureshot and barricaded Jojoy are enormously better than the native band the brave Geronimo). Hopefully, before requiring new taxes war, President meditate the words of Cicero: always an unjust peace is better than a righteous war.
